Wikepedia defines Motocross as a form of motorcycle racing or all-terrain vehicle racing held on enclosed off-road circuits and is widely considered the world's most popular form of motorcycle racing. Motocross is derived from the French, and was originally called Scrambling when the sport was invented in the UK. The name "motocross" is a contraction derived from the words "Motorcycle" and "Cross Country". Motocross is often abbreviated as MX.

The first MX racing I saw was at the Farm MX in Indianola IA. I was totally fascinated by the total lack of fear of the riders. Even the youngest of riders were pushing the track, their motorcycles and their parents’ hearts to the limits. I talked to the parents of a ten year old rider and the mother who was cheering him on said it took her almost two years to get comfortable watching her son.

Even if you are not a racing fan you will be captivated by the atmosphere of excitement of the event. Dust or mud, if you have never seen a MX race I highly recommend you go, at least once.
